Mission statement

The Manitoba Cornhole Association is dedicated to building a welcoming community around the game of cornhole. We promote inclusivity, sportsmanship, and friendly competition through organized leagues, tournaments, and events. Whether you’re playing casually or competitively, our goal is to create a fun and engaging environment for all players to enjoy the game and connect with others.

THE HISTORY OF CORNHOLE IN MANITOBA

  • 2022 — The Spark: Organized cornhole in the province took its first big step forward when Jason McNish established the South Central Cornhole League, giving Manitoban players their very first dedicated league structure.
  • Summer 2023 — The Global Stage: Winnipeg proudly hosted the World Police and Fire Games, where cornhole was featured as an official event. The high-profile exposure introduced thousands of new spectators to high-level play and fueled a wave of momentum across the province.
  • 2023–2024 — Rapid Expansion: Fueled by growing interest, several new leagues launched across Manitoba, offering players of all skill levels local options to compete, practice, and connect.
  • Spring 2024 — Governing the Sport: To unify rules, track rankings, and build a cohesive provincial network, the Manitoba Cornhole Association (MCA) was officially formed. That same season, the MCA hosted the province’s first-ever Manitoba Cornhole Provincial Championships in Winnipeg.
  • Present & Future — National Alignment: Cornhole continues to thrive with 7+ active leagues operating throughout Manitoba and even more in development. As an official affiliate of Cornhole Canada, the MCA works in close alignment with our national governing body to grow the game from the grass roots to the elite level — with our sights set on bringing the Canadian National Championships home to Manitoba.
